The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded annually to projects that foster a shared sense of European identity and integration among young people.

Denmark - Our Europe

The Our Europe project is extracting and communicating new and relevant information, stories and opinions from inside the European youth generation. Our Europe involves thousands of young people from 24 countries and promotes European and international understanding through an exploration of what is going on in and around the generation of young Europeans.

A team from Our Europe spent a year travelling through 24 European countries. They lived in the homes of young people and made hour-long interviews about existential, educational and working conditions and published radio programs, films, articles, interviews and pictures on their website. These aim to "enhance the understanding between young Europeans as the user can meet and hear opinions and circumstances for a homosexual man from Seville, a social entrepreneur from Athens, and an unemployed girl in personal crisis from Amsterdam, among many others". Additionally, in an experimental and successful Skype-session collaboration with 21 Danish schools, Our Europe talked live from Europe to 2,800 young Danish students.

Our Europe describes themselves as "cultural and political adventurers who want to bring other people on an explorative journey into the innermost heart of the European youth generation".

The Netherlands - JouwDelft & Co

JouwDelft & Cois a European youth congress that took place from 19 to 24 November 2012. It made an effort to find local-scale solutions to reduce youth unemployment in Europe. JouwDelft & Co. brought young active European citizens and policy advisors from all over Europe together to come up with a solution to this ever growing problem. Afterwards, a resolution about youth unemployment and the policies the youngsters suggested was made and was sent to the European Parliament in November 2013. Furthermore a European youth network linking ten different European countries was established, which can be used for projects like JouwDelft & Co. in the future.
